MAKE UP TIPS for dark skin

If your here, then your main interest is finding out, great tips on applying make up for your dark completion ..
Well, even if your not of dark skin completion, some of this tips may also work great on you too.

in order to emphasize what is best in a skin tone, it is worth knowing some basic makeup tips.
one should; start by Cleansing, moisturizing and scrubing your skin, then apply primer followed by the concealer, foundation, and the powder to create a smooth base. Avoid cosmetics that are honey-based as it could make dark skin look yellow, extremely unwell and unpleasant.

1, Foundation and concealer.

For dark skin, the foundation to be used must be water-based. Dark skin always looks oily, and therefore using a cream foundation will worsen the skin even more. Foundation includes; concealer, foundation, and powder.
Those who own a dark complexion should choose foundation as well as the basic elements as concealer and powder according to the basic features of their skin tone. Dark skin comes in different shades and colors, so feel free to mix dark shades with lighter ones to make a perfect blend.

To avoid the mask effect keep away of opting for shades that are lighter than the natural tone. Undoubtedly makeup is more visible on a darker skin than on the fair one.
Blending is the key to success, choose powders that are rather translucent to add a soft finish to your look. Keep away from the shiny look, it might spoil your whole makeup.

2.  Eye make up.

While applying eye makeup, go for dark colors like browns, prunes, copper and burgundy. Dark metallic colors can also be used.
It is better not to use eyeliner for dark complexion as it may spoil the look of ones eyes if not applied properly.
Only natural and clear color mascara is good for dark complexion skin.
If you feel the need to shine choose metallic shades. These will look fabulous especially if applied for a special night or an evening event.

During the day feel free to use brown or gray eyeliners, these will brighten up your eye makeup making it more sensitive and spectacular. Top your look with black or copper'ish mascara for a classy touch.

3. Blush:

Choose  deep orange and coral shades for blush and avoid brown and peach shades. For a very dark skin tone, one can choose bronze related shades. While for a night look , shimmers with gold tones, blends well with dark complexions.

 4. Lip color :

Dark complexion looks amazing with burgundies, brownish and berry shades. However the color palette can be further widened with mochas, coffee, chocolates, gold, soft pink and beige colors.
Never apply shades like; orange on dark toned lips,
Do not also make the mistake of coordinating your eye color with lipstick..
Before you buy any lip colour, make sure you test  it on the back of your hand, to see if it will mesh with your overall complexion.

need an evening gown for an event? - styles to try out

Effortless beauty- pink looks great on everybody so such a colour pastel would blend right in on different skin tones.. i love the simple strapless dress with very little details on it.. therefore it doesnt take away from the face..... such a dress is classy, yet gives an  'im not trying too hard' impression.

Chilled out seductress- when i say am in love with this dress.. i mean it... everything from the neckline to the funky pockets are just so well put together.. this look bring out a kind of powerful and savvy appeal. .. its very classy , yet it portrays a very chilled out. if one was to choose a similar style to this, i would advice you to look for bright colours like yellows , and blues, .. stay away from Greens though..
Cute in a puff puff- this dress is perfect for a fun, yet kind of dressy occasion.. maybe like prom ( if you have one), its quite easy to wear and would look great on every body type.
Sexy femme fetale- This dress is all va va voom, if your looking for sexy sophistication,, then definately try this long slit kind of dress. earth and water inspired tones like dark browns, deep blues and emerald greens would suite such a dress style.

1960's inspired- this style is more for mature but fun cocktail events, definately not suited for everybody.. to complete such a look i would advice you to add a pair of sheek gloves.
funky metalica-if your seeking all the attention in the room . A shiny dress is definitely the way to go.

Simply Royal- a simple black outfit is always the best option for a dress especially if you have no clue what the event your attending to is all about. THE SAFE OPTION.

The mermaid - a great dress to wear when your trying to show out you body.. it hugs well on all the womanly feautres.. in my opinion this dress suites beauty peagant like occasions, or award shows and stuff like that.. but thats just my opinion..

side note
anyways not all evening occasions need long dresses, or even dresses at all.
